Case Study: Custom Dual-Protection Masterbatch for a Hebei FIBC Manufacturer

A custom dual-protection masterbatch solution we developed for an FIBC manufacturer in Hebei Province has recently passed customer acceptance. The customer's bags are dedicated to packaging strong oxidizing chemicals worldwide, and must withstand up to 4 months of outdoor light exposure during transport and 70 °C container temperatures — placing extreme demands on the anti-aging performance of the masterbatch.

The challenge

The bags were previously produced with the customer's own formulation. After 60 days of ocean shipping, bags repeatedly arrived damaged at the destination port, accumulating roughly 500,000 CNY in compensation losses. Investigation traced the problem to two points: first, the in-house formulation could not pass the downstream customer's dual anti-aging tests; second, ordinary formulations simply cannot cover both light and heat at once when a bag must survive months of outdoor UV exposure and 70 °C container heat. In this service scenario the woven fabric and lifting loops are exposed to sunlight and high temperature for long periods — the most direct proving ground for dual light-and-heat performance.

Our solution

Against the customer's twin core requirements for light and heat protection, and the special demands of strong-oxidizer packaging, we tailored an exclusive dual-protection masterbatch: at a dosage of only 1%, it passes the customer's dual anti-aging tests, with the formulation tuned to the exact service scenario to meet the stringent dual requirements.

The results

After the custom solution went into production, the customer's FIBCs passed the downstream dual aging tests on the first attempt. Across 4 months of international transport there was no light aging, no heat deformation and no bag failure, and the product pass rate rose from 72% to 100%. Compared with the customer's previous formulation, the solution now saves about 50,000 CNY per month, and complaints dropped to zero. The customer highly recognized our response speed and customization capability, and has adopted the dual-protection masterbatch as the standard fitment for its core products.
